The objective of this project was to optimize the organization, management, and maintenance of the track and field equipment shed. This initiative aims to establish a streamlined system for inventory control, ensure efficient access to tools and equipment, and promote a safe and well-maintained environment. By enhancing the functionality and accessibility of the shed, this project will contribute to improved operational efficiency, easier equipment retrieval, and long-term upkeep.
To achieve an accurate inventory of all equipment across multiple storage containers, comprehensive documentation will be developed. This will detail the equipment associated with each event, including quantities and specific specifications. The documented inventory will be consolidated into a formal manifest, facilitating easier tracking and management. This approach ensures efficient access to information, eliminating the need for manual searches and providing a clear overview of container contents at a glance.
Upon completion of the project, field equipment and endurance event gear have been organized into distinct sections to facilitate the easy location and retrieval of items. Clear, labeled tape markings are used for both visual and verbal identification, ensuring efficient access. Daily-use equipment is kept readily accessible throughout the season, while long-term field equipment is positioned for easy access at the start of the season and is the last to be returned. This organization allows for seamless retrieval during the track season, while ensuring that all equipment is securely stored during the off-season.
